Mission Statement
Tuam Education Centre is a part-time education centre which aims to provide support to teachers and the wider education community by providing a place where teachers can meet, discuss issues, have access to professional and personal development and have access to the resources available.
Brief History
The centre was established in 1976 and was situated in the Presentation building on the Cathedral terrace. Its first director was Ms Mary Burke. Gerry King became director in 1980, a position he held until 2000 when Billy Hannon was appointed. In 1996 the centre moved to Hermitage Court , Dublin Rd.
In March 2009 the Centre moved to Chapel Lane.
The Education Centre is currently being run from Saint Patrick’s Primary School on the Dublin Road in Tuam.
